Does anyone actually like Mondays? They are the worst! That extra early alarm clock ringing, knowing that you don’t get to spend the day with your family, doing the things that matter most to you. The only thing that might be worse than Monday itself is when you catch the Smonday’s on Sunday. All too often I let the dread of the week seep into Sunday night and wreck a perfectly nice evening being grumpy. Since Monday’s aren’t going anywhere, I want to try to make the best of them by focusing on some good things in life.
We were greeted this morning by about ½” of new snow, with big fat flakes falling. My husband and I took the fur baby for a walk through the snow and it was absolutely beautiful. I’m so grateful that we’re able to have that time together, totally unplugged from technology. It’s a great way to connect, and adds a little extra activity to our day. Since we both have desks jobs, the extra dog walking is especially important for us.
Sunday night we were lucky enough to host some good friends of ours for dinner. They have a 4 month old baby – so scheduling time with them can be tough! It was fun to get a baby fix in while catching up with them. Hosting people is also a nice way to stay frugal – it’s less expensive than going out, plus you can make healthier meals.
Happy Monday all!
